Weltkind’s Weblog

Weltkind’s thoughts and speculations.

Lockerz

Yesterday my friend Mullwar (blog is in Russian) told me of this website. There you can:

  • answer their daily posts
  • play games
  • watch videos

and get points for that. You also get points for logging in and inviting friends. Then you can redeem these points for real prizes (brand stuff, electronics, experiences).

You can join only if you get invited, so if somebody wants an invitation, let me know :) (leave a comment or connect me via my website).

20GB of Online Storage for Free

Just found out about this one today. With Dropbox you can store up to 20 GB of files for free.

You can save them as backups, which means if something happens to your OS or computer, your most important files will be safe and easily restored.

You can synchronize files with your other computers or mobile devices just by saving them in a special folder. They, along with your changes to them at any time , will appear on the server and your other computers right away.

You can also share your files with friends, although nobody, including Dropbox employees, can see your files unless you give them a link.

All you have to do is create an account and download the program.

If you register via my link, both of us will get a 250MB bonus!

Free Rice – help end hunger

I played this game long ago, and now I have come across it again.  It’s an English Vocabulary game were you have to pick out synonyms for given words. For every correct answer they donate 10 grains of rice to people that suffer from hunger.

How to peel a kiwifruit

I wanted to eat a kiwifruit, and when I took a knife in my hand, I started to think that maybe there is an easier and not so ‘sticky’ way to peel it. I searched the Internet and found this useful video:

Here is my result:

Not so pretty as shown in the video, but it’s definitely better than the way I had been doing it before. I guess I need some practice. :D

Playing The Sims3

I don’t even have to guess that many people have already been playing the Sims 3 since earlier than May (before the official release), so I’m not going to talk about that. Those who don’t know can find many references on the Internet.

I was discussing the game with my friend and told her about what happened in the family I had created. I decided to make a post out of it and maybe to continue posting here updates on what special/interesting is happening to them.

Here goes my first entry:

I have created a man and a woman – both young adults -, and they have 5 kids, because her lifetime wish is to raise 5 children from babies to teenagers. Now she wants to have another baby, but she is NOT going to have any more :D Five crying and shouting babies was more than enough for me to handle :D

I called a babysitter when parents went to work. A teen came and stood near the door all the time. Then a couple of hours before the end of their work, he came inside and stood near the cribs, covering his ears with his hands because babies were shouting :D He didn’t do ANYTHING , and I paid $75 for that!! 8O :D When they came home, all the kids were hungry, lonely, and one toddler had fallen asleep on the floor! Though, I have to admit that the one sleeping on the floor was feeling much better than all the others crying and shouting ;)
